Love God's Way

Today I had the opportunity to listen to Sis. Gloria Copeland teach/preach on Living Long and Living Strong while I worked.  She said that one of the ways to live long is to live as stress free as possible and walking in love helps us live stress free lives. Below are my notes on the part of her message that spoke on Love. This part of the message really blessed me and I wanted to share my notes with You. Be blessed as you are reminded of a powerful truth.

Love.  We must walk in love because that is our commandment . . . that we love one another.

What is Love?  (rhetorical)

God's love is not touchy, fretful or resentful, pays no attention to a suffered wrong, does not rejoice when unrighteousness prevails...

Without the Love of God people can hurt our feelings and it is at that time we can begin to get touchy about it, and may begin to hold animosity towards the person -- this is the opposite of Love.

Love requires us to be TOUGH.  Don't let anybody hurt your feelings.  If somebody does you wrong, you're in control and you're in command, so what will you DO?

Ask God to forgive them because they really don't know what they are doing.  We've got the power that God has -- we have the power to forgive any body of any thing.

Don't allow yourself to become touchy, fretful and resentful.  Pay NO attention to a suffered wrong.  Somebody does you wrong, don't pay any attention to it, don't think about it again, instead say:  Lord, I pray for them, and bless them.

Then, guess what happens . . . we go FREE!

God has put us in a place like He's in (that is to walk in love and forgiveness).  What does He do, he accepts or forgiveness.  He doesn't see if we deserve it or not before He forgives us, but He forgives us and it's gone, forever.  God doesn't hold it against us and never will.

As Christians, we've got it made but WE MUST do it God's way -- Walk in Love and don't hold any thing against any body.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
8a Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].
