1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13 (MSG)

The Way of Love

1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.

2 If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

8-10 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incomplete will be canceled.

11 When I was an infant at my mother’s breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.

12 We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

13 But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

Psalm 50:16-23

Psalm 50:16-23 Living Bible (TLB)

16 But God says to evil men: Recite my laws no longer and stop claiming my promises, 17 for you have refused my discipline, disregarding my laws. 18 You see a thief and help him, and spend your time with evil and immoral men. 19 You curse and lie, and vile language streams from your mouths. 20 You slander your own brother. 21 I remained silent—you thought I didn’t care—but now your time of punishment has come, and I list all the above charges against you. 22 This is the last chance for all of you who have forgotten God, before I tear you apart—and no one can help you then.  23 But true praise is a worthy sacrifice; this really honors me. Those who walk my paths will receive salvation from the Lord.

The Proverbs 31 Man

In Search of the Proverbs 31 Man
The One God Approves and a Woman Wants
by Michelle McKinney Hammond

He has an intimate knowledge of God.

Knows God intimately; therefore, he is able to discern the needs of the woman in his life.

Has a vision for his life and a secure sense of purpose and destiny.

Is a servant leader who regards the achievements of his wife not as competition but as a valuable addition to his own accomplishments.

Is secure in his manhood.

Considers the woman in his life to be an equal but unique partner.

Is able to prioritize the issues in his life and deal with them accordingly.

Places God and his wife above all other things.

Is honest in his commitments and devotes himself wholeheartedly to them.

He garners the trust of his wife and family and the respect of his community, because he follows through with his commitments.

Clears the path and leads his wife on the course of righteousness.

Lays down his life for his wife as the ultimate sacrifice unto God.

Assumes the responsibility for covering his wife.

Recognizes the needs of his wife as an opportunity to bless her.

Realizes that his word equals his life and makes the sacrifice needed to honor his vows.

Considers the cost of a commitment to the woman in his life and pays it.

Will know how to romance his woman.

Views the love he shares with his wife as a sacred gift to give and receive.

As husband he embodies the nature of Christ.

He lives a life of unconditional love.

Opportunities many times are the result of being in the right place at the right time which means you and I need to become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit then every before because of the blessing that is on our life and the favor of God that’s on our life the Holy Spirit will lead us to favorable opportunities so that this ability can be tapped into.

I want to strongly suggest that you start getting up every morning and decree:

®  The blessing of God is on my life and empowers me to prosper;
®  The favor of God on my life produces the opportunities to make it happen;
®  The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord… (Psalm 37:23); and
®  And because the Holy Spirit that is in me guides my steps, I’m always in the right place at the right time.

Amen

How Great is Our GOD!

The splendor of a king
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice

He wraps Himself in light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice

How great is our God
Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father, Spirit, Son
Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God
all will see
How great, how great is our God

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Name above all names
You're worthy of all praise
And my heart will sing
How great is our God

Romans 12:6-10

Romans 12:6-10 (The Message )

If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else;
if you help, just help, don’t take over;
if you teach, stick to your teaching;
if you give encouraging guidance,
be careful that you don’t get bossy;
if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate;
if you’re called to give aid to people in distress,
keep your eyes open and be quick to respond;
if you work with the disadvantage,
don’t let yourself get irritated with them
or depressed by them.
Keep a smile on your face.
Love from the center of who you are;
don’t fake it.  Run for dear life from evil;
hold on for dear life to good.
Be good friends who love deeply;
practice playing second fiddle.

Watch Your Mouth

"If you fill your spirit with the Word when you don't need it, your spirit will fill your mouth with the Word when you do need it."  --Terri Pearsons
